Topic 1: Workforce Shortage and Recruitment
- Examine current laboratory workforce shortages, student pipeline trends, and projected workforce needs impacting the profession. Participants will discuss recruitment challenges, outreach strategies, and approaches programs are using to increase awareness of laboratory careers and attract students into laboratory programs. Followed by discussion and Q/A sessions.
- Provide an overview of commonly used AI tools and their applications in education and professional practice. Participants will explore how AI can support teaching, learning, communication, and workflow efficiency while considering ethical use, limitations, and best practices. Interactive discussion will encourage participants to share experiences, discover new ideas, and identify practical ways to integrate AI into their individual roles and educational settings.
- Explore emerging trends shaping today’s college students, including ROI-driven education, flexible learning expectations, alternative credentials, AI integration, financial stress, and mental health challenges. Participants will examine how these shifts influence student engagement, performance, and support needs while discussing strategies to adapt educational practices, teaching approaches, and student services to better meet the needs of evolving learner populations
